Semi-Skilled Mechanical Workshop Operative

We have new vacancy for a Semi-Skilled Mechanical Workshop Operative at our Plymouth Office. 

THE JOB: 

• Assist in the assembly of Ex d enclosures.
• Operate basic workshop tools and machinery (e.g., grinders, drills, pressure test rigs, and hand tools) under supervision.
• Prepare and maintain work areas, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to safety standards.
• Handle stores materials and equipment safely and correctly.
• Follow instructions from workshop manager.
• Build mounting plates to approved dwgs and work packs.
• Any other duties involved in the build process of our product.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience in a workshop or mechanical environment (preferred).
• Basic understanding of mechanical components and tools.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and health and safety procedures.
• Physically fit with good manual dexterity.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• NVQ Level 2 or similar in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred but not essential).
• Forklift (preferred but not essential).

Contract Type	Permanent, 40 hours per week 8:00am- 4:30pm (Monday to Friday)
Salary	Competitive, dependent on experience
