PRESS RELEASE

JCE Energy, a specialist provider of off-grid renewable power packages, electrical control systems and innovative solutions for safe and hazardous areas, has secured a significant solar powered lighting contract for a Processing & Distribution Oil Plant in the Middle East.

The seven-figure contract will support the provision of standalone solar power systems for lighting and security purposes, located within potentially hazardous areas of the plant.

JCE’s scope of work includes the design, manufacture, assembly and supply of the solar packages that will provide lighting, which will benefit the client from significant installation infrastructure cost savings, due to the innovative design, along with reduced long-term site operational expenses. This investment will also reduce their reliance on grid power as well as lowering carbon emissions.

The ATEX / IECEx certified units  are suitable for use within Zone 2 hazardous areas, and comprise of a Photovoltaic Solar Panel, Solar Charge Controller Enclosure, Battery Enclosure, Ex d Battery Isolator Enclosure and an Ex d Photocell Enclosure, all capable of operating within the client’s specified ambient temperature range.

Martin Craig, Managing Director of JCE, said “we are delighted to be chosen, after a rigorous selection process, as the preferred vendor providing a high quality, reliable and robust off-grid solar lighting solution.  Having completed 104 of the systems and now progressing with the next phase, I would like to thank all our staff in Aberdeen and Plymouth for going above and beyond to ensure these essential systems are delivered in a cost-effective and timely manner.”

JCE Energy’s off-grid power solutions are regularly deployed for supporting the oil and gas industry to decarbonise operations while providing long-term beneficial operational expenditure (OPEX) savings.
